Growing Together at the Heart of Our Community
From Ramadan and Saudi Founding Day to examinations, workshops and joyful early years events, a half-term that reflects the strength of our shared journey.

As we arrive at the half-term holiday, we pause to celebrate a truly meaningful period of learning at Aldenham Prep School Riyadh. We are now midway through the academic year: the warmth, energy and shared sense of purpose across our school continue to shine.

This week marked the beginning of Ramadan for our community. Ramadan is a Holy Month rooted in reflection, generosity and spiritual growth. These values are beautifully reflected in daily school life. We thank our families and pupils for the kindness, patience and understanding shown during this special time; we are proud to share this important season together as one community.

Our week began with a thoughtful assembly led by the Arabic Department to mark Saudi Founding Day, officially recognised on Sunday 22nd February. Pupils explored the Kingdom’s history, culture and heritage, celebrating identity and belonging in a respectful and inspiring way.

Mid-Year Examinations for Years 7 and 8 also took place this week and have gone well. We are proud of how calmly and confidently pupils approached this milestone, supported by staff and families working together to encourage resilience, responsibility and self-belief.

Learning beyond the classroom continued with Year 3 enjoying a wonderful visit to Beautiful Gardens on Monday, full of curiosity, smiles and discovery. On their return, pupils spoke animatedly about horticulture and arboriculture, a lovely example of how real-world experiences spark enthusiasm and deepen understanding. These moments help children connect learning to life and create memories that last.

We were also delighted to welcome parents to our SEND Parent Workshop this week, led by Ms Agnes Monan and the inclusion team. Thank you to families who joined us for this informative and supportive session, strengthening our partnership and reinforcing our shared commitment to inclusive education.

We also extend warm wishes to members of our community who recently celebrated Chinese New Year and welcomed the Year of the Horse, a symbol of energy, perseverance and forward movement. These qualities are reflected so clearly in our pupils each day as they learn, grow and challenge themselves.

As we pause for half-term, we reflect on how far our children have come and how much they continue to grow week by week. A favourite quote that feels especially fitting at this point in the year is:

Thank you, as always, for your continued trust and partnership. Aldenham Prep Riyadh is more than a school. It is a community where children are encouraged to grow, lead, create and care for one another.

We wish all families a peaceful Ramadan, a happy half-term and safe travels to those heading away.
