A Week of Growth, Dialogue and Direction
Working Together for Excellence at Aldenham Riyadh

We have enjoyed a strong and purposeful week at Aldenham Prep Riyadh, reflecting our continued focus on high standards, clear direction and a close partnership with our families.

A highlight of the week was our Tea and Talk session, which saw excellent attendance from parents. These sessions are an important opportunity to share developments, listen carefully to feedback and strengthen the sense of community that sits at the heart of the school.

A key focus of the discussion was our journey towards COBIS accreditation. This represents our commitment to the highest international standards across all areas of school life, from teaching and learning to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing. It is a rigorous process and one that reflects our ambition to provide the very best for every child.

We also shared our developing academic pathways, particularly for Years 7 to 13. Families were introduced to the structure of Cambridge IGCSEs at Key Stage 4 and Cambridge A Level studies in Years 12 and 13. These pathways offer clarity, academic rigour and strong progression to leading universities worldwide. Our aim is to ensure that every pupil is both challenged and supported, with a clear sense of direction for the future.

As always, partnership with parents remains central to our success. Conversations this week reinforced the importance of clear communication, consistent expectations and working together to support every child. These shared priorities help ensure that pupils feel secure, supported and ready to succeed.

We would also like to thank families for their understanding during the unexpected school closure due to rain yesterday. Learning continued through the provision of online tasks, ensuring that pupils remained engaged and on track.

Looking ahead, we are delighted to introduce our first parent workshop of the term, “KS1 Mathematics: Preparing for the Next Chapter,” for parents of Year 1 and Year 2 pupils. The session will take place on Monday 20th April at 8.00am. This workshop will provide valuable insights into how mathematics is taught in KS1 and offer practical strategies to support your child’s learning at home as they prepare for the next stage of their education. Further workshop dates for this half-term will be shared with parents next week. We warmly encourage all Year 1 and Year 2 parents to attend and look forward to welcoming you.

We are also excited to be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 23rd April. This is always a special occasion in the school calendar, encouraging a love of reading and celebrating the power of stories. We are grateful to Ms Fatma Gure, Head of English, and the English Department for leading this important event.

Pupil leadership continues to grow across the school, with School Council elections and Eco-Warrior appointments taking place next week. These roles give pupils a meaningful voice and an opportunity to contribute to the life and direction of the school.

As we move further into the term, our focus remains on consistency, high expectations and supporting every child to achieve their full potential. Education, at its best, is not simply the accumulation of knowledge, but the steady shaping of character, judgement and independence of thought. It is through daily effort, careful guidance and a shared sense of purpose that young people begin to understand not only what they can achieve, but who they may become.
