Ambition, Opportunity and a Bright Future
A joyful week of reading, learning, parent partnership and exciting progress at Aldenham School Riyadh

It has been a truly uplifting week at Aldenham School Riyadh, one that reflects the energy, ambition and shared sense of purpose that continue to define our school community. Across classrooms, corridors and events, there has been a strong feeling of momentum as pupils grow in confidence, curiosity and character.

A joyful highlight of the week was our celebration of World Book Day. The morning parade was a wonderful spectacle of colour, imagination and enthusiasm, reminding us of the enduring power of stories to inspire young minds. Our classroom door displays were equally impressive, showcasing creativity, teamwork and a genuine love of literature.

We extend our sincere thanks to Ms Fatma Gure, Head of English, and the English Department for leading such a memorable occasion, and to the many parents who joined us for reading sessions throughout the day. It was a pleasure to welcome parents into classrooms to share stories with our children, helping to strengthen the vital partnership between home and school. One parent kindly shared afterwards that she had “so much fun reading to Year 1 and Nursery” and that the children were “so attentive and engaging.” Feedback such as this reminds us how powerful shared experiences can be in nurturing a lifelong love of reading.

We were also delighted to welcome parents to our Parent Workshop: Key Stage 1 Mathematics, led by Mr Joshua Saunders, Key Stage 1 Phase Leader. The event was exceptionally well attended and warmly received. Sessions such as these reflect the importance we place on working closely with families so that every child can flourish. We now look forward to next week’s Lower Key Stage 2 Mathematics workshop.

This week also marked a significant milestone in the continued development of Aldenham School Riyadh. We are proud to share that the school has secured Centre Status and full accreditation for Cambridge International Education (CIE) curriculum and examinations. This achievement strengthens our academic pathways and further enhances the opportunities available to pupils as they progress through the school. It reflects our determination to combine a broad and enriching education with internationally respected qualifications and clear routes to future success.

Pupil leadership continues to grow in strength, and the newly appointed School Council and Eco-Warrior representatives will be announced in next week’s assembly. These roles help children develop responsibility, confidence and the understanding that leadership is rooted in service to others.

Looking ahead, we are excited for our Science Fair on Thursday 7th May, where curiosity, creativity and discovery will take centre stage. We also look forward to the annual ASPA Spring Fair on Saturday 9th May from 3.00pm, always a wonderful celebration of friendship, family and community spirit.
